Leaking Air Ventilation System at Halsion
The Challenge
After occupants of a multi-story office building in Central London noticed the first two floors were excessively hot, while upper floors remained temperate, engineering services company Halsion discovered the property’s air ventilation system was not operating at efficient airflow rates.
Rather than install new ductwork, which is expensive and disruptive to daily operations, our customer opted for a complex retrofit of their existing system to ensure occupants once again had a comfortable working environment and significant energy was not being wasted on inefficient ventilation.
Our innovative Aeroseal Duct Sealing Solution
As the experts in air ventilation maintenance, Duct Cleaning Services were called in to examine and remediate the faulty system. Through a comprehensive pressure test, we identified significant air leakage across 210m2 of ductwork as the root cause of insufficient airflow to the lower floors.
In response, our expert air team utilised innovative Aeroseal Duct Sealing Technology to seal the ventwork from the inside out. This non-destructive solution injects a polymer-based aerosol through the ductwork, which adheres to even the smallest holes and gaps, ensuring the ventilation system is once again airtight and fully efficient.
The Outcome
Aeroseal Duct Sealing was an immediate success, with comprehensive post-sealing pressure tests confirming the process reduced duct leakage by 74%. The system now performs at a Class A standard, delivering consistent, temperate air to all occupants on every floor.
